Kate Winslet at 40: I’m baffled people think women get less beautiful as they age
She is about to turn 40 in age-obsessed Hollywood but Kate Winslet is excited about the milestone — and believes that “confidence comes with age”.
The actress, who seduces 25-year-old Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth in her new film The Dressmaker, said it “baffled” her some people thought women lost their looks as they aged.
“I don’t feel old. I feel excited about being 40. I feel like the past two years have been different for me, deliberately so,” she told Net-a-porter’s weekly digital fashion magazine The EDIT.
“I really wanted to mix it up a bit and feel that I was going full pelt towards 40 having done as much as I could: pushed myself, challenged myself, exhausted myself, had as much fun as possible.”
